The choice was taken in a state bureau meeting on Thursday. Appropriately, regulation will be corrected by the state government in the gathering to make Chief Minister the Chancellor of state-run colleges.
This was declared by Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu after the bureau meeting.
"Today, the state bureau gave its agree to the proposition to make the main clergyman the chancellor of all state-run colleges instead of the lead representative. This proposition will before long be presented as a bill in the get together," Basu told correspondents.
The choice comes in the background of West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar's altercations with the state government over arrangements of bad habit chancellors across colleges.
Prior in January, Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar had affirmed that the state government had selected Vice-Chancellors of 25 colleges without Chancellor Jagdeep Dhankar's assent.
The TMC government's rancorous relationship with the Governor has been in the information in light of multiple factors since Dhankhar was delegated Governor in July 2019.
